We are Twiggs & Co.

Twiggs & Co. is a women-led, Denver-based sustainability consulting and implementation firm. We work to broaden the everyday lense of sustainability and the impact it can have by creating corporate social responsibility programs and initiatives that increase the impact an organization/business has across a triple bottom line.

We are here to facilitate the shift from the linear economy that we have to the circular economy that we so desperately need. Tactically applying strategies that account for system impacts of actions, we understand how to generate impact and we choose to use our powers for good.

We are here to disrupt bad business and systems that no longer serve and we are here to do so in as kind and as gentle of a way as possible. We live our values and we will always strive for better and more cohesive as we evolve, moving as technology advances, breakthroughs happen, and dynamics shift.

About Us main photo

Twiggs & Co. was founded in Denver, Colorado on the occupied land of the Arapaho, Cheyenne, Núu-agha-tʉvʉ-pʉ̱ (Ute), and Očeti Šakówiŋ (Sioux).*

To acknowledge and address this, our next steps are:

  • To learn how to say the names listed properly
  • To include acknowledgement of the history of the land at each of our events
  • To volunteer with orgs who are working on food justice that honors more holistic, regenerative, and traditionally Indigenous ways of managing and working with the land. We promise to hush, pick up shovels, and show up as needed.

Anna - CEO, Co-Founder, Chief Dot Connecter

When Anna Burrell landed in Denver, lessons she’d gathered from her diverse life experiences solidified into a clear set of philosophies about how it is possible to affect change through business. A deep appreciation for the natural world was fostered by a childhood traveling the world, immersed in aspects of nature working in her family’s agricultural consulting firm; learning about cycles, deep interactions, and international business development.

From boardrooms to packing sheds, traveling through 18 countries and 32 of the 50 United States by the age of 18 made learning to translate across dialects, languages, and cultures vital. Reinforced by a foundation in horse training, coaching rowing teams of teenagers, and a formal education that crosses international business, ayurvedic medicine, frankincense distillation, and early childhood development – being able to effectively find sources, leverage points, and effectively communicate has been key to every success.

A systems thinking philomath at heart, Anna is always looking to leverage impact to facilitate prosperous change. She believes that an economy should serve the society that lives within it and that we can accomplish great things with radical collaboration. With intention, the change we must see in the world is achievable. She wove these and many other ideas together to start the co-creation of Twiggs & Co., a management consulting firm that invites clients into a more circular economy.

Vicki-Headshot

Vicki - Chief Relationship Architect, Co-Founder

Vicki is the most enthusiastic and passionate person you will ever meet, creating exponential impact wherever she goes. She is adorable, charming, and slightly awkward. She holds two Master’s Degrees: Public Administration and Nonprofit Management from the University of Central Florida. She is on a personal mission to create a more engaged, connected, and purpose-driven community – one relationship at a time.

Vicki always seems to make friends everywhere, throwing kindness around like (environmentally friendly) confetti in her travels to 8 countries and 49 of the 50 states. She is a seasoned relationship manager who builds authentic, transformational connections and has raised millions of dollars for nonprofits across the United States. She realized that she could create exponential impact by facilitating the relationships between businesses, governments, and nonprofits.

Expert Relationship Architect, Director of Enthusiasm, Keeper of Hearts, and Chief of Shaking Hands and Kissing Babies (from a safe social distance).

“First the humans wouldn’t leave me alone, then they made a cartoon of me, and now they say I have a company. I don’t know about all that but I do know that the snacks and belly scratches are pretty good.”

Our Values

  • The planet – We need a place to live. We remain conscious of how our actions impact the environment around us. We do not ignore this because it’s a big number, we design systems.
  • Our people – Internally and externally, we are seeking to create authentic relationships with our stakeholders and help them create authentic relationships with others. We treat people the way they want to be treated. We are the change we wish to see in the world
  • Playfulness – We never take ourselves too seriously #dadjokes.
  • Transparency – We are here to make change. If you can take what we do and make it better, please do. And let us know. We live in an abundant world and we will act like it every step of the way.
  • Learning – There is always more to learn. We are humble experts looking to prove our assumptions wrong.
  • Openness – We are open to new ideas. We are open to people who don’t look like us, think like you, or act like us. We are open to change. We are open to feeling uncomfortable. We are open to being disruptors.
  • Generosity – We are generous with our kindness, time, talents, and treasures. We also know that we must fill our cups so that we can then share our gifts with others. (see value #2)
  • The Oxford Comma – This represents clear communication. We are going to be talking about very sensitive and complex issues where the details are vital. Our language is important and we will always strive to be the best versions of ourselves in how we communicate.
  • Radical Collaboration – Our competition is a mindset. Other businesses, other services, and other people are our collaborators, our proof of concept, and our teammates. Even if they don’t know it yet.
